ADHD Therapy/Coaching
People with neurodiversity often come to therapy when they hit a blip in the road and are struggling with emotional problems or difficulties in their lives such as relationship problems, family issues, loss and bureavement, work related issues such as bullying, financial worries and health issues. Or you may be suffering from depression or anxiety be feeling sad, angry, isolated or have low self-esteem, be stuck and feel alone or unable to cope.
You may have spent your life feeling as if you do not belong. Maybe because you are a bit different? This may make you feel like you are odd or weird. Trust me, you are not. It is simply the fact that your brain is wired differently. You are probably neurodiverse. Many neurotypical people do not get you. You may have struggled with friendships all your life and thought what is wrong with me? There isn't anything wrong with you. According to Additude, women with ADHD are more likely to face divorce, become single parents and find finances challenging. They may also be victims of physical and emotional abuse. They mask their symptoms with perfectionism.
Currently the Diagnostic Manual (DSM) does not differentiate for ADHD symptoms of women. The perception is the angry, defiant school boy so girls often get misdiagnosed or undiagnosed. Being diagnosed with depression or anxiety instead of ADHD.
Therapy/coaching can help you unravel, express and understand any difficult feelings you may be experiencing. You may be wrestling with issues such as identity or sexuality or the consequences of childhood difficulties. People can also seek help when they feel lost or numb, following traumatic events or experiences. Working at relational depth in a therapeutic relationship can help restoration and healing, from these painful experiences and ultimately help you reach a place of acceptance and peace.
Whatever the nature of the problem or difficulty you are facing, therapy/coaching offers you the opportunity to sit alongside someone who will listen without judgement, and offer you the time and encouragement that you need, in order to explore your feelings and experiences, and make sense of things.
We can work at your own pace in order to build up trust in our relationship so you feel confident to share your story and some of the difficult and possibly traumatic experiences you may of experienced.
