About Nicola Holmes, Therapist/Coach in Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham
I qualified as an integrative therapist several years ago after having completed a degree in therapuetic counselling. I gained experience working for several charities including Cruse Bereavement in Swindon and Cheltenham, Cotswold Counselling in Cirencester and Teens in Crisis in Gloucestershire, on a voluntary basis whilst training before deciding to open my own practice.Since opening my practice in 2018, I have completed lots of personal development training and I am now a qualified Clinical Supervisor and work for Cruse Bereavement as a Clinical Supervisor supporting their volunteers.
I also have lived experience of ADHD both personally and in my family and since my diagnosis, I have been exploring my ADHD and also become an ADHD Coach to support others on this journey. This personal journey has been life-changing and I am very passionate about helping like-minded people to explore their neurodiverse symptoms and empower them. Since my diagnosis I have developed a more healthy lifestyle, been working with an ADHD Therapist/Coach and feel more content and fulfilled both professionally and personally. I have found my tribes and become a member of several nature-based communities. I have got the fire back in my belly and want to help you do the same! My ADHD is no longer driving the bus. I know there will still be blips, thats natural as I am quite sensitive but I now understand why and how to deal with these triggers. I am much more aware of my energy which has enabled connection with like-minded souls. I have begun to soar and found my identity. I want to help you do the same. Let's do this ...
As a professionally qualified therapist, I adhere to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy's Code of Ethics and practice for counsellors.
Good counselling practice requires regular supervision of the counsellor, to help give a fresh perspective and the opportunity to discuss a client with another professional. It is also essential for my well being. I attend regular supervision several times per month to ensure good counselling standards are maintained and that I am working to the best of my ability.
I hold full business indemnity insurance and have been CRB checked to work with children.
Integrative counselling, as the name suggests, is a combined approach to psychotherapy that brings together different elements of specific therapies. Integrative therapists take the view that there is no single approach to treat each client in all situations.
